Bio:
Jon has been working on improving public policy for over two decades at the state and federal levels. He is currently Deputy Director at the New Mexico Legislative Finance Committee (LFC) where he has worked for over 15 years. Jon has led work that resulted in statewide policy changes and cost savings, numerous reports, journal articles and book chapters.
Over the last decade, the LFC has received national recognition for work in evaluation, budgeting, and accountability by the United State Congress, Pew, MIT’s J-PAL, and the American Society for Public Administration. Jon previously worked as an evaluator for New Mexico’s child welfare agency and as a Principal Scientist supporting the work of the United States Air Force Research Laboratory.
Jon is originally from the beautiful Espanola Valley where he graduated from McCurdy High School before earning a B.A. in Psychology from UNM (2000-Go Lobos!), along with an M.S. (2003) and Ph.D. (2006) in Psychology from TCU (Go Frogs!). Jon also completed the Senior Executives and State and Local Government program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2015. In his spare time he plays music in a local Santa Fe rock band.
Jon previously served on the Community Advisory Board from 2019-2025.
