Bio:

Kevin Mullet was born in Columbus, OH, and grew up in Denver, CO, and Galveston, TX.  He served five years in the US Navy as a photographer.  Afterward, he spent 28 years in Information Technology in roles ranging from Data Communication Analyst to Enterprise Monitoring System Engineer. He spent a year running a portrait/wedding photo studio out of his home, and a year being a stay-at-home dad. Kevin has been married for 26 years.  His wife is a psychology professor and chair of Arts and Humanities at Navajo Technical University. They have two sons, one who just graduated from UNM to become a high-school English teacher, and one who just started at UNM and is majoring in film and digital arts (animation).  Kevin has a BA in Anthropology (ethnology) from UNM. While getting that degree, courses in Transitional Justice and Global Reparations sparked a keen interest in policy, which led him to the MPP program.  His ultimate goal is to be a policy wonk and participate in the state and national policy processes. His primary policy interests are artificial intelligence, urban planning, and election administration.
Kevin’s favorite movies are When Harry Met Sally, Broadcast News, and Altered States.  He likes to watch “Hiking with Kevin [Nealon]” on YouTube, has binged every episode of The West Wing, The Newsroom, Madam Secretary, and Bojack Horseman an embarrassing number of times, and has not once managed to catch up on all of the 358 podcasts to which he is subscribed.  He loves photography and working in a photo darkroom and has yet to find a darkroom since moving to Albuquerque, so if you know of one, or think you can stump him with Star Trek trivia, he can be reached at kwm@unm.edu.
